Former Council member of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council (2017 to 2020), which assesses and endorses the Government’s official macroeconomic forecasts, assesses budgetary forecasts and broad fiscal stance as well as monitoring compliance with legislated fiscal rules.
I was managing editor of the Economic and Social Review from 2016 to 2019. This is Ireland’s leading journal for economics and applied social science.
I represented the Central Bank of Ireland in a number of research networks including the Eurosystem’s Competitiveness Network, which met in Dublin in March 2013 and also the Household Finance and Consumption Network, which is carrying out a major survey of household finances across all of the countries in the Euro area. The Irish survey was undertaken by the CSO with more information here.
Previously, I was involved in the Wage Dynamics Network investigating wage and labour market adjustment in Europe.
